Finnep — budgets, expenses, and the rest of your money life
Finnep helps you track spending, plan monthly budgets, and keep accounts, loans, and shared money in one place. Open the app and start using it — no account required. Data stays on your device until you sign in and sync.
Offline first
Use budgets, expenses, categories, tags, and accounts as a guest. Everything is stored locally (SQLite on Android, browser storage on the web). Sign in or reconnect and queued changes sync to your account. A banner shows when you’re offline or have pending sync.
Budgets
Create budgets with monthly limits per category. Invite people by email with owner, editor, or viewer roles. Accept invitations from email or app links. Shared budgets respect permissions — viewers can look, not edit.
Expenses
Log spending with budget and date filters, pagination, and a filtered total for all matching rows. Multi-line items with optional per-line amounts; total updates when every line has an amount. Cash or bank payment (currency must match). Notes, receipt photos (~200 KB), searchable tags — create tags and items inline. View and replace receipts when editing.
Accounts & reports
Track bank and online accounts with balances and transaction history. Record deposits and withdrawals. Monthly reports compare planned vs actual spend by category; drill into rows for underlying expenses. Shows uncategorized totals and live vs snapshot budget lines.
Categories & tags
Organize with categories, items, and aliases for easier search. Link tags to items — they apply automatically on expenses. Flat tags you can add, rename, or delete anytime.
Loans
Separate borrowed and lent lists. Tie to a contact or free-text name. Principal, currency, interest, due date, notes. Timeline notes with images, payments (cash or account), bad-debt marking. Due-date reminders in notifications.
Todos & notifications
Todos for yourself or assigned to contacts — descriptions, due dates, images, open/completed tabs. Bell icon for unread count and recent alerts (assignments, completions, loan due dates). Full notifications screen for history.
Contacts & sharing
Add people by email, accept invitations, share budgets, categories, or accounts with view or edit access. Manage shares per contact; shared budgets sync member roles.
Account
Register, sign in, forgot/reset password, email verification. Profile: update details, change password, delete account. Deep links for budget and contact invites.
Android widget & sync
Home-screen widget: Add opens the expense form (optional amount prefill); recent expenses below. Resizable; stays in sync on open/resume. Background sync every 5 minutes when signed in and online. System light/dark theme. Accessible labels and screen-reader-friendly feedback.
