I'm a software developer and tarpon fisherman out of Port Canaveral, Florida. I built Blackbart to give me the data I need right when I need it, whether it's a weekend trip with friends or a tournament.
Blackbart combines real-time environmental conditions, fishing forecasts, AI predictions trained on actual catch data, and community insights to help you make better decisions on the water. It's not a social media app. It's not a fishing log with a map slapped on it. It's a fishing advisor that gets smarter the more you use it.
WHAT BLACKBART DOES
- AI Predictions: Species-specific bite forecasts based on water temp, tide, wind, barometric pressure, solunar data, and more — 50+ environmental factors.
- Smart Catch Log: Log your catches in seconds with one hand on a rocking boat. GPS, conditions, and zone data are captured automatically.
- Fishing Advisor: Ask questions like "Is today good for tarpon?" or "What's biting near me?" and get answers based on real data, not generic articles.
- Community Intelligence: See what's working in your area without anyone's exact spots being exposed. Zone-based privacy means your honey holes stay yours.
- Fishing Reports: Real-time activity signals for any area — what species are being caught, on what tides, at what temps.
- Coverage: All 21 coastal US states, from Maine to Washington, with over 1.3 million fishing zones mapped, both inshore and offshore.
HOW IT WORKS
Every catch logged by the community feeds into species-specific AI models. The more data the system has, the better it gets at predicting what will bite, where, and when. Your personal predictions improve over time based on your own fishing patterns too.

WHY I BUILT THIS
Tournament fishing taught me that the difference between winning and losing is usually information. Who figured out the bite window? Who noticed the water temp shift? Who put in the homework?
Blackbart is that homework, automated. I built it for myself and pressure-tested it on real fishing trips season after season.
