Wonderful graphics & gameplay as usual. Found this one more challenging then 1-7. I'll usually get stuck here or there & take a break, when I come back I can usually work thru it. This is the first time I couldn't figure it out, even enlisted my husband & son, finally I had to seek a walkthrough to get unstuck. Also, it lacked the details & clues in the journal which was very useful reference for getting interupted during the dialogue or having too long a break. Otherwise very enjoyable.

Sadly, the series continues to get worse regarding some features. Clues aren't recorded in the journal anymore, and most puzzles reset if you back out. You can't pick up items until they are triggered as being needed. Touch response was godawful. I almost ragequit the greenhouse door puzzle because it would never move the correct piece. The dialog that lingers forever unless you click the tiny x is annoying and dialog w task info won't repeat.

I usually love games from this developer, I've played through many of their series. I didn't like this one nearly as much. I think what I disliked most was: 1) Puzzle difficulty. It seems like there were a lot of repeats of puzzle types & the scene where you have to complete 3 each of two of the same type of puzzle was ridiculous. 2) collecting objects. You can't collect as you go, you have to go back to scenes once you need the items. Needless back and forth that takes away from the experience.
