Really enjoyed the game, however, has anyone else noticed that (in the addition/subtraction section) the correct answer is not one of the three choices? This is the only flaw I have come across. Graphics are very basic, but that's appropriate, and the distraction offered by the timer is a welcomed challenge!
The biggest problem with this app is the use of decimals in the timer. When you are focussing on solving math quickly, the last thing you want is a bunch of pointless numbers flashing across your screen. It creates this sense of chaos and pressure that makes you feel uncomfortable. It isn't as though anyone can pay attention to the fractional seconds anyway. Just let it slowly tick down second by second.
Although you can just use the last number of the calculation, I have found that actually working out the full number really does help your ability to do quick math in your head . It has actually helped me feel more confident doing math at my work (civil engineer) rather than pulling out the calculator all the time I take less time and solve it in my head and check it later if I feel the need. In college we are trained to use a calculator for the most part. I got sick of pulling out my calculator for relatively basic computations that I should be able to do on my own. Now I am gaining the confidence needed to work in my head for many things that don't absolutely require one. Thank you!
In my opinion this app really helps you to fokus and to understand basic principles of math. I rushed through all levels in one evening without hitting the pause button once except for the very last level of the last section. But I have to admit it wouldn't be possible to get to the exact solution in 10 seconds if there was no clear solution to select. The thing is, it might be hard to add 367 and 486 under pressure, but since you know the solution ends with a 3 since you add ..6 and ..7 you can search for a 3 in you're three options which will lead you to the right solution in 99% of the time. So in my opinion this app won't help you to come to the exact solution as fast as possible, but it really helps you to develop a mindset which will lead you to the right selection. *Conclusion* If you want to get such a mindset and find new ways to get to solutions really quickly, this is the right app for you. If you want to master very complicated equations, this app won't help you as much since it's designed to get you focused and get to the solution in under 10 seconds.
The decimal place in the timer is really distracting. Also you can cheese the addition by just looking for one thing. For instance a question that asks whats 33+52 well 3+2=5 and only one of the the three answers end in 5. This is true for all the other (from what I experienced) addition questions.
I played just a few minutes and already can't play it any further. Although *I like challenges*, *I don't like how big and in your face the timer is!* It adds so much unnecessary pressure, which just stresses me out and makes it unbearable to play for me. I'd love to be able to set the timer as hidden. Edit: I highlighted the important bits with *stars* after I got a reponse just to make the actual meaning behind my statement more noticeable. Also here is a short version: I like the difficulty but I think the game isn't very user friendly in it's design.
- Training-Medals bug fixed.
- Get back the pauses.
