About this app

Do you read correctly Armageddon, Capernaum, Seraiah, Habakkuk or Nephilim?

I have created this app to help you learning how to pronounce correctly the biblical names of people and countries.

It is free and always will be, no advertising or limitations, only the opportunity to contribute if you want.

With 3150 words between people, cities, places, countries.

You can add a few words as a favorite so that you can listen them whenever you have doubts about the correct pronunciation.

All informations here are available on Watch Tower Library and they are the property of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania

I encourage you to use the official android application of the Jehovah's Witnesses (search for JW Library or jw.org)

I installed this on my phone many years ago and it has helped me a lot. Many names I can figure them out myself, but there are those occasional ones that stump me. I'd much rather have a good idea of how to pronounce them rather then skip over them. On occasion, I come across a name that isn't included but that is rare. Or the app spells it differently than my version of the Bible.

LOVE IT. A lot of times people quickly give up on scripture reading or don't even attempt because they have a hard time with the older vocabulary and feel overwhelmed. I know I did once and didn't read scriptures til I was an adult. I recommend this app to anyone honestly because it is extremely helpful

Some of the words in this pronunciation app are not found in other bible translation, I guess this app favors the New World Translation. Though I'm not a fan of JW, I can't say the same for this app. I use this app frequently when I'm reading from the NIV, KJV, and NRSV and found this app and the Harper's Bible Pronunciation Guide as my go to when confronting a difficult name in the biblical text.
