About this app

Most calorie apps make you hunt through a database for every single thing you ate. Food Ally lets you just say it.

Press the microphone and talk the way you would talk to a friend: "a bowl of porridge with honey and a flat white." Food Ally works out what that is and logs it.

HONEST NUMBERS, NOT FAKE ONES

Nobody can tell you a home-cooked curry was exactly 612 calories. Food Ally gives you a range instead, and tells you how sure it is. If you know the portion was bigger than average, drag the slider and the range moves with you. You get a number you can actually trust, rather than one that only looks precise.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

- Speak a meal: describe it out loud, no typing and no searching
- Type it instead, if you would rather not talk
- Search two food databases: Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central
- Scan a barcode by pointing your camera at the packet
- Save the meals you eat often and log them again in one tap

MACROS AND DIETS

Choose how you want to eat - balanced, high protein, keto, or your own split - and Food Ally works out your protein, carb and fat targets from your body and your goal. The home screen shows how you are tracking against them without burying you in numbers.

BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY

The home screen shows what you need and nothing else. No streaks, no badges, and no notifications nagging you about a lunch you did not log. Open it, log, close it.

YOUR DIARY STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

There is no account and no sign-up. Your food diary is stored on your own device, not on our servers, and we cannot read it.

FREE AND SUBSCRIPTION FEATURES

Food search, barcode scanning and manual entry are free to use. Describing meals by voice or in your own words comes with a 5 day free trial, after which it needs a subscription.

Food Ally gives estimates to help you understand what you eat. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. It is built for adults.
Say what you ate. Get an honest calorie range, not a fake exact number.
