ForageIQ is a decision-support app for mushroom hunters. It combines real-time weather, soil moisture, snowmelt tracking, and burn-site intelligence to tell you when and where to go foraging — anywhere in the United States.

ForageIQ is not an identification app. It tells you where and when conditions are right. Identifying what you find is always your responsibility.

Live scoring for 219 foraging regions across 48 states. Each region gets a daily tier rating built from temperature, precipitation, soil moisture, and historical phenology.

MyCodex
Your personal foraging journal. Track 150+ species with season calendars, habitat and host-tree plates, lookalike comparisons, regional filters, and unlockable badges as you log finds.

Trip Planner
Build a personalized multi-day foraging itinerary. Pick your target species, trip length, and preferences, and get a route based on live conditions and land access.

Burn Site Tracker
Post-fire burn perimeters with morel timing windows, soil temperature estimates, snowmelt status, and closure alerts, plus drive times from your location.

Interactive Maps
Heatmaps showing foraging conditions nationwide, with a public-land-only filter so you can see BLM and USFS ground at a glance. Zoom in to find the best spots.

DATA SOURCES
National Weather Service, SNOTEL snowpack stations, NOAA soil moisture, MTBS and USFS fire perimeters, BLM and USFS land ownership, GBIF and iNaturalist observation records, and historical phenology models.
