Hi Friends,

We’re Danielle and Julie, cofounders of PlotTwist, healthcare providers (Danielle is a nurse practitioner and Julie is a physician assistant), best friends from college (WE ARE Penn State), and yes, also two people looking for community. So, just know: WE GET IT.

We know what it’s like to live in the most populated city in the United States and to still feel lonely. To want to chime in with that group of friends laughing in the elevator, but to look down at your phone instead. To bookmark every trivia night, open mic, book club, and kickball league seen on TikTok, but to chicken out at the last second because you don’t want to go alone.

BUT we also know this: when we’re together, we never fear saying yes to anything. And this “yes” mentality is what leads to the loudest laughs, the most unbelievable stories, and the richest feeling of human connection.

Life should feel social, fulfilling, and safe. It should be full of unexpected plans, connections you didn’t see coming, and core memories with your favorite people. That’s why we built PlotTwist. Because when you show up with someone who feels safe, you’re suddenly free to meet people who are new and your world expands in both directions: closer to the people you love and deeper into your community.

We’re building PlotTwist because we’ve made it our mission to give every person the confidence they need to feel plugged into their community. We’re building for a world where social circles overlap, people mix freely, and everyone feels like they belong.

Lastly, we just wanna say: to the lifelong friends we’ve met through PlotTwist - we adore you, to the guys we’ve double dated through PlotTwist who are forever part of our single life lore - we love you (even if you didn’t love us back... your loss, tbh), and… to the people we haven’t met yet but will because of PlotTwist - we’re ready when you are.

Invite a friend to team up (if you have more than one single friend, invite them all)
Create your joint profile
Browse other teams (when you like a team and they like your team back, that’s a connection, or what you might call a match on dating apps)
Group chat with your connections
Make plans for a group hang IRL (or a double date, or a meet up, or whatever you want to call it!!!)
