About this app

Leading a cardiac arrest (or “Code Blue”) requires a healthcare provider to keep track of many things such as medication doses, timing, interventions, and much more. While their brain is already overloaded, they must make life-altering decisions without any time to think. This is often a very daunting process for new and even experienced healthcare providers.

The Code Blue Leader app won’t get nervous or distracted. Code Blue Leader won’t miss a step. Follow evidence-based, real-time, and situation-specific resuscitation guidance. Let Code Blue Leader coordinate and keep track of all the critical parts of a resuscitation so you can think more clearly and more calmly.

The Code Blue Leader app acts as a real-time "walk-through" of the ACLS cardiac arrest algorithm. It provides step-by-step guidance based on the input received from the user. Therefore, in order for the app to function as intended, the user must press the appropriate button(s) at each step to ensure the correct algorithm is being followed. Pre-set timers will automatically start/reset based on which buttons are pressed. An integrated metronome maintains the quality and consistency of chest compressions.

Timing for CPR and common ACLS medications are included with visual and audible reminders to help cognitively offload these tasks. Furthermore, an automated logging function allows each step of a resuscitation to be accurately recorded. The logs can be copied to the clipboard for documentation purposes. Any medications, interventions, and doses that are prompted by the Code Blue Leader application reflect those recommended by the most up-to-date American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS guidelines.

Are you already a Code Blue expert??
Try "Task Only Mode" which removes the dialogue cues and provides a more simplistic "checklist" version for each step of the algorithm. This was created for experienced ACLS healthcare providers who do not wish to follow dialogue prompts and prefer simple reminders.
