MapPhoto shows your photos on a map by where they were taken, so they are easy to find and organize.
Travel photos, site records, everyday walks... Just pick a folder. MapPhoto reads the GPS location stored in each photo and shows it as a pin on the map.
■ Find photos on the map
- Shows the photos in a folder you choose (subfolders too) as pins where they were taken
- Photos taken close together are grouped into one pin with a count (the distance is adjustable)
- Zoom out and pins merge into area clusters, so even thousands of photos stay tidy
- Tap a pin or cluster to see its photos right below the map
- Choose your background map: OpenFreeMap (worldwide) or GSI maps of Japan (standard map and aerial photos)
■ Select and organize in bulk
- Long-press a photo to select several
- Draw a rectangle, circle or any shape on the map to select every photo inside
- Copy, cut and paste, move to another folder, rename (including numbered batch rename) or delete
- Deleted by mistake? Tap "Undo" right after
- Never overwrites: name clashes are saved as "name (1).jpg"
■ Share safely
- Share photos as they are
- Or share and save copies with the location (GPS) removed, so you never reveal places like your home (your originals stay untouched)
■ Comfortable photo viewer
- Tap a photo to view it full screen; swipe through the other photos from the same place
- Pinch or double-tap to zoom
- One tap shows Share, Show on map and more
- See details such as date taken, location, camera and image size
■ Photos without location, too
- Photos without GPS data are collected in a "No GPS" list and can be organized the same way
■ Privacy first
- Your photos and their locations are processed only on your device and never uploaded
- No account needed
- MapPhoto only accesses the folder you choose
■ Fast
- Reads only the locations first; images and thumbnails are loaded only when needed, so even large folders open quickly
- Later scans re-read only new or changed photos
■ Good to know
- Photos appear on the map only if they were taken with location (GPS) recording turned on in your camera app
- To read photo locations, choose "Allow all" on the photo access screen
- The map needs an internet connection (listing and organizing photos work offline)
- The app shows ads. You can remove them with a one-time in-app purchase
- Available in English and Japanese
