Much more than yet another note reading application, Simply Read Notes is a true multifunctional educational tool developed with music professionals. Why choose Simply Read Notes?
- Unlike most existing apps, our app does not provide random notes. Each exercise was written by a music teacher, in order to get as close as possible to the musical language. Some exercises are even extracts from famous music.
- Simply Read Notes offers two training modes to suit all levels:
o Smart mode: let yourself be guided with our complete learning program available in four different clefs (bass clef, treble clef, alto clef and tenor clef). Ideal for beginners, learning begins with three notes and offers progressive difficulty that adapts to the player's progress. So move forward at your own pace.
o Manual mode: à la carte learning with three types of exercises (with key, without key and visual interval recognition). In this mode, everything is configurable:
§ Stopwatch
§ Survival mode
§ Selection of notes for exercises with clef
§ Choice of difficulty level
§ Playing mode (static notes, moving notes, notes to be found after being hidden)
§ Choice of the number of correct answers
§ Display of reference notes (with reference to the Dandelot method)
Manual mode is ideal for targeting a particular difficulty.

Dev: Would you please consider selling a full version of this app without the energy system or a subscription requirement? The rate at which you gain "energy" is one per 30 minutes and you can only accumulate 5 without paying. One exercise is one energy, even if you abort the exercise. There is a push to get people to buy energy or subscribe to a pro subscription, which the price isn't even listed. Decent app, shady practices, so I ultimately went with a different app.

Leaving an honest review because I actually just unsubscribed after paying the sub for a few months. Great app against it's competitors. What it's missing: Rhythm + Ledger lines. That's it. While the app is ready to use and great for leaning notes, that's not enough to truly learn how to sight read. If the app has those things I would have kept up the sub for months to come. Unfortunately, I must move forward to help my reading skills.

this is a stellar app that I would love to pay a few dollars to own. as it is now, its subscription model is overpriced for me personally, and the amount of free play at one time is shockingly limited. One recommendation: my hands are small and phone wide and I wish the virtual piano was adjustable/could be more narrow, with an option to then either center it or place it on the right or left of the screen (one or two handed while holding my device). or that it worked in portrait mode.
