ShadeHere turns a quick camera reading into a clear, practical view of your surroundings. Choose the front or rear camera, hold your phone steady, and see whether direct sun, shade, mixed light or an unclear result is likely.

Two answers, kept honest

• Local visible light is estimated on your device from camera exposure.
• Regional Sun Caution adds optional UV risk, sun height, cloud and wind context based on approximate location and current conditions.

They stay separate because shade can reduce direct visible light without removing all UV risk. The camera does not measure ultraviolet radiation.

Private by design

Camera frames are analyzed on your device and are never saved or uploaded. If you allow approximate location, ShadeHere reduces its precision before a secure request for regional weather context. Coordinates and raw weather are not stored in measurement history. There is no account, advertising or analytics.

Important

ShadeHere is a practical estimate, not a certified lux meter, UV sensor, medical device or safety guarantee. EV100, lux and foot-candle values depend on the Android camera and are not incident-light measurements. Never look directly at the sun. Regional UV can remain high in shade. For medical advice about sun exposure, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
