The Save a Life app is created by the Ministry of Health and FNOMCeO (National Federation of Medical and Surgical Doctors' Orders), with the collaboration of SIMEU (Italian Society of Emergency Medicine) and SIMEUP (Italian Society of Emergency Medicine) and Pediatric Urgency).
The Save a Life app provides the basics to deal with a health emergency: to recognize the different situations, to understand in what circumstances it is necessary to call the rescue, to know what to do while waiting for the arrival of the ambulance and especially what not to do, avoiding incorrect behavior that could cause negative results.
The Save a Life app includes information on the main emergencies for adults and children, videos and images on first aid techniques, useful numbers and a quiz to test the ability to intervene correctly. This information is very useful because in an emergency every minute is important, but does not in any way replace the intervention of the doctor or other health personnel to whom you must contact.
The Save a Life app is the main tool of a wider communication project that includes the website www.appsalvaunavita.it and a brochure. All tools use simple language to address even those who do not have particular medical skills.
The Save a Life app is available for smartphones and tablets that can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android platforms, to be consulted whenever the need arises.
