Meshtastic is a tool for using Android devices with open-source, off-grid mesh radios. This app is the main client for the Meshtastic project, allowing you to manage your mesh devices and communicate with other users.

Ratings and reviews

The app doesn't send messages from mobile. Every time I try to send messages from the app to my device over Bluetooth, it times out of attempts. However, when I send messages from my device, my app can see them. This is a major flaw in the app and need critical work to be used. Also, for those told to use discord, be careful as discord support try to scam people out of money using crypto wallets.

User Interface had improved, user interface functionality had got worse. When you randomly have all of your bluetooth mesh devices dissappear in the app, along with Network Devices and it sits and spins, it causes ypu to shutdown the app, clear bluetooth cache and hope the bluetooth comes back up. additionally have to force shut down app and reopen. Just saying, it slows us down when we have to do all of that.

The app does what it needs to do. Most things work reasonably quickly, looking at messages, nodes, settings, etc. It would be nice if, when switching back to messages, it would go back into the previous channel, especially since it's the only channel I have. That would speed things up a bit. The map takes a long time to load and is slow to zoom in or out. I initially had a lot of crashes, but restarting my Android phone seemed to have eliminated those crashes for now. Hopefully that holds up.
