About this app

Meshtastic is a tool for using Android devices with open-source, off-grid mesh radios. This app is the main client for the Meshtastic project, allowing you to manage your mesh devices and communicate with other users.

For more information about the Meshtastic project, please visit our website: [meshtastic.org](https://www.meshtastic.org). The firmware that runs on the radio devices is a separate open-source project, which you can find here: [https://github.com/meshtastic/Meshtastic-device](https://github.com/meshtastic/Meshtastic-device).

The latest update (v2.7.8) has fixed the connection issues. After a lot of testing, nodes are staying connected, and reconnecting after leaving and returning to them. When in a single node's menu pressing the Android back button will exit the app completely instead of returning to the list of nodes. Also a way to sort through the message list would be nice. Maybe alphabetical by name or by time received and by favorites.

Super cool ecosystem, I have 6 nodes it can connect to. my biggest gripe is that with the Android app if you go out of range or it disconnects for some reason (besides changing settings that require a restart), it never reconnects. You have to tell it to connect to another device or to disconnect and then re-connect to your device. annoying when you think you are connected until you check the app and see you are not.

Thanks for your feedback! Please update your app to the latest version. A few changes were added in version 2.5.15 to improve reconnection reliability. Let us know if you continue to experience any issues.

Only real complaints are that there is no control/indication for how direct messages are encrypted and that trace route fail without any feedback at all. Otherwise it ticks most of the boxes for functionality. I guess the settings/config menus could be better, but that's a matter of preference. I think it might be better to hide a lot of the things no one should be using behind an "advanced" interface maybe. And hints/help about what some of these settings do would be useful too.
