If i ever see a smart device app user friendly or simple or all u need? Than is this one. I have 2 smart plugs. Im satisfied with what i xan do with them. Change device name, set schedule, manual on off whenever u need. Very good. The only thing that needs to be changed is the day in the schedule is very very low visible. You guys need to make another colour for the marked days cause i barely see the difference between thae days that are on besides days that are off.
The Kasa app is really easy to use, the set-up of new devices is pretty seamless along with adding them to the Google Home app so I can control them with The Google Assistant. The one missing feature for me that I would really appreciate is to create an applet with the IFTTT app. Please open your service to the IFTTT app/team so that's users can further automate actions in our homes based on location and proximity to the home. This would be greatly appreciated! Also, the app seems to run really slow compared to others on my Google Pixel.
Weird issues. I'm unable to configure my smart plugs with the app, even when properly connected to the devices built in wifi. It sticks at the naming device screen. I had to configure them with an iPad. Once configured I can't manually turn on/off my plugs if I'm on my home wifi (same router as the smart plug, using mobile data or a wifi from anywhere else works. However activating a scene does work from home. Latest update June 21 still has the unable to connect problem.
I have 2 tp-link bulbs, one light switch and one plug connected through kasa and Amazon Echo. They all work beautifully. Easy to install and set up, flawless execution. This stuff is just great!
Devices runtimes are off by several hours (kasa clock runs slow). Consumption data are lame: daily, weekly and monthly averages, plus instantaneous value, but way to see trends in hourly or daily consumption. It also has a few bugs. Smart plugs might work in 5 years with some luck.
Use to work great. But now I can't control other lights in our household because they are not on my account (and vice versa). That's a big problem for shared areas of our household.
