The Gel Blaster Nexus application and the Gel Blaster Portal are compatible with all blasters, including the Surge and the Surge XL.

Connecting to your Portal requires a Bluetooth® connection enabled on your device, and an internet connection to download firmware updates.

Trying to pair the Halo Plasma rifle gel blaster is painful and ultimately does not work. I would love to try to change the LED color scheme but it wont connect. Its supposed to be as easy as turning it on, start searching for device via the app while the rifle does its light show, then connect. BUT IT NEVER CONNECTS. its a huge let down, you can try and maybe you can get it to work, but its a waste of time to attempt. this app should be updated to work via a USBC or a PC version for hardware.

Pretty decent. After replacing a faulty target from Amazon, I bought three of them and they seem to work just fine. The range on the Bluetooth isn't the greatest, but once it's set up the games work much better with multiple targets. My only complaint is the previews show alternative multiplayer game modes like capture the base, but even with multiple targets paired it doesn't seem to be available to play, nor anything outside the stock 6 modes. I'm hoping for more multiplayer modes and guns.

Targets won't pair on iPhone or Android. After powering off and factory resetting targets will not show up in the app. We managed to get one reset and to show up in the app, but gave up after waiting for more than an hour for the software to update. The game modes look cool, but we have not been able to use any of the 3 targets we ordered. Will continue to try working with support, but they have not been helpful so far.
