About this app
Lithica Mapper is a professional geological mapping tool designed specifically for Android tablets. Optimized for intensive stylus and touch gesture use, it allows geologists, researchers, and students to digitize and structure maps in the field with centimeter-level accuracy.
NOTE: This version is currently in Closed Testing. We welcome your feedback to help us fix bugs and improve the drawing tools before the general release.
Key Features:
• PRECISE GEOLOGICAL DRAWING: Draw and edit geological contacts, faults, and units (polygons) freehand, by vertices, or in mixed mode. Designed to ignore accidental palm touches and respond to stylus input.
• GEOPACKAGE SUPPORT (GPKG): Data is saved locally in a standard, interoperable GIS format. Export and share your maps directly to QGIS, ArcGIS, or other desktop tools without complex conversions.

• FULL CRS SUPPORT (EPSG): Integrated Coordinate Reference System selector including geographic datums and projected coordinate inventory (UTM). Accurate reading of current and target position.
• EDITING TOOLS: Modify feature attributes, view layers with individual lock/visibility, and integrated undo/redo functions.
• INTEGRATED GPS: View your exact location on the ground with altitude indicators and estimated accuracy.
IMPORTANT: This application is a standalone product focused on mapping and map editing on tablets. If you want to capture specific data points or georeferenced field notes on your smartphone, we recommend using our sister product, Lithica Explorer.
