Wholphin is an open-source, third-party Android TV client for Jellyfin. It aims to provide a great app user experience optimized for TV viewing.

This is not a fork of the official client. Wholphin's user interface and controls have been written completely from scratch. Wholphin supports playing media using ExoPlayer and MPV.

Please note: In order to use Wholphin, you must have your own Jellyfin server set up and configured!

Wholphin supports Movies, TV Shows, other videos, plus Live TV & DVR.

I used Jellyfin for years now. Constant freezes, desynced subtitles, and lots of weirdness. I kept debugging the server, with no success, eventually just accepting that Android devices just don't play nice with Jellyfin servers. Installed this app, and all playback is flawless now. No freezes, subtitles work perfectly, instant playback start. it even has some really nice extra features (like fetch subtitles, a feature I really missed from my Plex days, and Seerr integration). Really nice work.

This is impressive! Especially being able to pause and rewind live tv which is something the official client was never able to do. Thank you! My two gripes: default scale should be none (not fit), and default bit rate should be maxed out.

it has a plex-like environment without all that clutters and honestly this should be the official app . The only thing which was missing and after recent update was added, the delete option is now available by going to Setting>Advanced settings>Show media management options (enable it) now each time press & hold on each media you can see the delete option appeard. This app is flawless. everything works smoothly. it was after finding this app that i copletely migrated from plex to enjoy plex like expereience but with full privacy which i couldnt achieve under plex.
