Heard your interview on the retro hour podcast. Nice port of the game. Barely remember playing this back in the day. Had football director, which was more or less a ripoff of this. It would be nice to have a retire function so you can get a rundown on all the players you managed, goals scored, seasons played, games played. That sort of thing.

Purchased this on my Spectrum, then my C64, my iPad, and now, on my Android phone. This is, without a doubt, one of the GREATEST GAMES ever written, and has spawned an entire industry by itself. No ads, no distractions, no excel sheets to manage your players, just the pure choice of balancing player skill and fitness levels. Simple. Effective. Astoundingly addictive. I have only two small gripes with the game when playing on a phone. The players are barely visible. Perhaps they are too small. The other is more of a nostalgia thing. 8-bit chunky fonts please! Other than these small (personal) options, there is nothing to add. Superb.

8 bit fonts eh! Hmmm. Thank you so much for your comments Chris. I am very happy I kept the feel and gameplay of my original. It was fun writing it too.

My childhood has been brought back thanks to this game, love the fact some old names are still there, Parkes, Sansom, etc. Only a few things I would like to see changed. First of all can we have the stick men brought back? And also can we have players in their correct positions? For example, I had a keeper appear in the transfers called Rooney. Also I feel there too many injuries, I once had 6 injured players and couldn't field a full team. If these things could be addressed it would be great. Thanks Kevin.

Great Andrew! The stick men are being built by me now! Well positions, that's another thing I can look at. The injuries might be low fitness. Fitness does not just include energy it includes knocks, so if you let it get low, a player is more likely to be injured, when he should be rested to recover.
