About this app

The PV Master APP is a configuration tool for the GoodWe battery energy storage inverter products. It can locally configure storage inverter via Wi-Fi direct connection. The PV Master APP helps the installer to complete the installation of an energy storage system.

The App is not the problem -it works ok. The problem is all the permissions it had access to. Why does the app need access to control the flashlight, volume and audio, camera, disable screen lock, pair with other bluetooth devices retrieve other running apps, download files without notification and so on. Looks to me like it is quite a detailed spyware package! !

better than nothing? GoodWe implemented their data connections and transmissions in a weird way. plus there is no cyber security function: i.e. change default passwords "goodwe2010" or "admin/admin". Additionally some of the functions of this app aren't documented. If you have options for buying another inverter/pv make then I would recommend to do so.

App does what it needs to but doesn't make it easy, If there was a way to let it connect to the IP address assigned to it in the network it's on, it would allow much more usability, and ease of access. The WiFi modules on the inverters aren't the best, and drop connection often especially while devices connected to its own hotspot, for setting updates.
