Conduria is a conduit bending calculator for electricians who bend EMT, IMC, rigid and PVC conduit by hand. Enter the rise, the angle and the distance to the obstacle, and it shows where to put each mark, measured from the conduit end to the nearest 1/16 inch (or in mm), and which mark on your bender to line it up with: the arrow, the star or the saddle notch.
Example: a 4" offset at 30° on 1/2" EMT, with the obstacle 36" from the end, gives marks at 29 1/16" and 37 1/16", 8" apart, with 1 1/16" of shrink (exact trigonometry; 1" with the shop multipliers).
BENDS
• 90° stub-up and back-to-back 90°
• Offset, and the offset angle from the spacing between bends
• Rolling offset: true offset, travel and how far to rotate the bender
• 3-point and 4-point saddles
• Kick: angle and travel
• Parallel offsets for conduits side by side
• Segmented bends: degrees per shot, shot spacing, developed length
• Concentric bends: radius and marks per conduit
• Total degrees, with what is left before 360° between pull points
YOUR CONDUIT, YOUR BENDER
• EMT, IMC, rigid or PVC, trade sizes 1/2" to 4".
• Pick your bender model to use the take-up or radius its maker publishes and, where published, the maker's names for its marks: Greenlee 840A to 843A, Klein Tools 51603 to 51605, IDEAL 74-026, 74-047 and 74-028, Gardner Bender 960H to 962H. Or type in the numbers stamped on your bender.
• Type lengths the way you write them: 3-1/2, 3.5 or 1' 6-3/4".
• Exact trigonometry or the shop multipliers.
CHECKED BEFORE YOU BEND
• Fit check: every bend is checked against the conduit end and the next bend; add the stick length to check the far end. A bend that needs more room turns red and shows the space it needs.
• To-scale drawing of the stick with every mark.
• Bends past 360° between pull points are flagged.
BUILT FOR THE JOB SITE
• Large numbers; the marks stay pinned at the top as you type.
• Copy a result to send to the crew.
• Light and dark themes that follow your phone.
• Tap sounds and vibration, each with an off switch.
• Works offline. No account, no sign-up.
• Phones and tablets, in 19 languages.
FREE AND PRO
Every calculation is free, with no usage limits. The free version shows a small banner ad at the bottom. The bend sheet collects several bends with their marks in one list; the free sheet holds 3 bends.
Pro, a one-time purchase, adds:
• Unlimited bends on the bend sheet
• Saved jobs to reopen later
• The bend sheet as a PDF to print or share, with each stick drawn
• No ads
FAQ
How do I find the marks for a conduit offset?
Choose Offset and enter the rise, the angle and the distance to the obstacle. Conduria shows both marks from the conduit end, the distance between them and the shrink.
What is the take-up on a 1/2" EMT bender?
Most 1/2" EMT hand benders use 5"; 3/4" EMT 6", 1" EMT 8", 1-1/4" EMT 11". The number stamped on your bender comes first.
Which mark on the bender do I line up with?
The arrow for a stub-up, an offset and a 4-point saddle; the star for a back-to-back; the notch for the center of a 3-point saddle. Conduria names the right one next to each mark.
What multiplier do I use for a 30° offset?
2.0, with 1/4" of shrink per inch of rise. 10° is 6.0, 22.5° is 2.6, 45° is 1.4, 60° is 1.2.
How many degrees are allowed between pull points?
360° in total. Total degrees adds up your bends.
LIMITATIONS
• Results are estimates. Take-up, gain and radius vary by maker and model, so the values stamped on your bender and the maker's chart come first. Follow the electrical code for your job, and make a test bend on the first piece.
• Built-in bender values cover EMT 1/2" to 1-1/4" and rigid or IMC up to 1". For other sizes and PVC bending forms, enter your own take-up or radius.
• For PVC, Conduria lays out the marks; heating is up to you.
• Saved jobs stay on this phone.
• Greenlee, Klein Tools, IDEAL and Gardner Bender are trademarks of their owners. Conduria is independent and not affiliated with them.
