Focus Blocker is an app blocker and focus app that helps you block distracting apps, reduce screen time, stop endless scrolling, and stay focused.
Whether you're studying, working, or building healthier digital habits, Focus Blocker helps you control when apps and short-form videos are available.

β’ Start manual focus sessions anytime
β’ Create automatic recurring schedules
β’ Choose hard or soft blocking modes
β’ Reduce social media use and screen time

**BLOCK SHORTS AND REELS**
Avoid endless scrolling without blocking an entire app. Focus Blocker can detect and restrict short-form video sections in supported apps, including YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. This feature requires optional Accessibility access.
**FOCUS SESSIONS AND SCHEDULES**
Choose distracting apps and start a focus session when you need to study, work, or spend time offline. Schedule recurring blocking periods for mornings, work, bedtime, and family time. When a blocked app is opened during an active session, Focus Blocker prevents access and displays a blocking screen.
**DAILY APP LIMITS**
Set daily time limits for selected apps and limit how many times you open them. Use these controls to reduce repetitive checking and create healthier screen time habits.
**HARD AND SOFT BLOCKING**
Hard blocking provides stronger protection from distractions. Soft blocking offers more flexibility while still interrupting automatic app-opening habits.
**PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED**
Accessibility Service (optional): Focus Blocker uses the Android AccessibilityService API to detect opened apps and identify short-form video sections such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. It enforces your chosen app blocking rules, focus schedules, daily usage limits, and daily opening limits. To recognize restricted content, the service may inspect active app information, window changes, and on-screen interface elements. It is used for user-configured focus and blocking features, not as an accessibility aid for people with disabilities. Enabling it requires your explicit consent, and you can disable it anytime in Android settings.
Usage Access: Detects active apps and measures app usage to apply blocking rules and daily limits.
Display Over Other Apps: Shows a blocking screen when restricted apps or content are detected.
Exact Alarm: Helps start scheduled focus sessions on time, including when the device is idle.
**PRIVACY AND DATA**
Focus Blocker does not require an account and does not show ads. Blocked app lists, schedules, and focus settings are stored locally on your device. Focus Blocker does not sell personal data or use Accessibility access to read your messages or contacts for advertising.
Firebase Analytics is used for app usage and performance statistics to help improve the app. Analytics data may be processed by Google Firebase.
