About this app

Athlon Ballistics is the free companion app for Athlon Optics shooters. Use it with your Athlon chronograph, with Athlon thermal scopes and clip-ons, or on its own as a ballistic calculator.

CHRONOGRAPH
• Connects to your Athlon chronograph over Bluetooth, automatically when it is near.
• Live screen: see the velocity of every shot as you fire, with average, extreme spread (ES), standard deviation (SD) and energy.
• Name each session, add notes, and link it to a rifle and a bullet.
• Compare and merge sessions.
• Sessions sync to your account and come back on a new phone.
• Export sessions to a spreadsheet and share them.
• Update the chronograph firmware from the app.

BALLISTIC CALCULATOR
• Firing solutions with G1 and G7 drag models.
• A library of factory cartridges and bullets. Add your own bullet with its BC, weight and length.
• Rifle profiles with sight height, twist rate and zero range.
• Live local weather for the solution, or enter the conditions yourself.
• Ballistic charts with your own ranges and steps. Export them to a spreadsheet.

ATHLON RETICLES
• See your hold on the real Athlon reticle for your scope.

ATHLON THERMAL SCOPES
• Connect to supported Athlon thermal scopes and clip-ons over Wi-Fi, including the new Athlon DCM.
• Live view from the scope; take photos and videos and save them to your phone.
• Send rifle and bullet profiles to the scope's ballistic calculator. On DCM scopes, holdover marks come from your profiles.
• Change reticle type and color, and set BDC holdovers.

YOUR DATA
• Sign in with email or Google. Profiles and sessions stay with your account.
• Imperial and metric units. English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.
• Delete your account from the app at any time.

Ratings and reviews

I've used the chronograph at the range a few times now and the unit itself seems to work well, however, it has been a struggle to sync the unit with the app. I get a message in the app saying sync was successful, however, there is no shot data showing up for most of the sessions recorded on the unit. Just updated the firmware this afternoon and that did not address this issue. When will Athlon add profiles for 22LR Rimfire ammo like SK Rifle Match?

I haven't tried pairing the Chronograph to the app. The chronograph works great no issues. The app seems decent. I can can manually enter my data and the drops have shot accurately. At first I didn't like it but using it more I've gotten familiar with it. The bullet library is limited but can enter different bullets manually with their bc, length, and weight. It could be easier to use. However, overall I like it.

It gives velocities, and it does it well. I would like to see more options and features for reloaders. Having the ability to assign powders and weights of charges would be helpful with load development. Otherwise, I like the chronograph and I guess I'll use paper and pen for the rest. Be advised that the app is very rifle-centric. Edit: There is a field for notes and each string of shots can be named.

Important: corrected air-density math can move long-range holds, for example about 4.7 MOA at 1000 yd. If you adjusted muzzle velocity or BC to match your hits, check again.
