About this app

Wear your awareness with Keen by HabitAware.

Keen is the world’s first smart awareness trainer and subconscious-behavior tracker. Keen is your guide to awareness and recognizes when you are hair pulling (trichotillomania), nail biting, skin picking (dermatillomania) or thumb sucking. With awareness you are empowered to take control.

Already have Keen?
We are excited to join you on the journey to awareness.
This app includes functionality to train & track Keen.

Over time we will add additional features to help you analyze progress and learn to replace the behavior you are trying to stop.

But first, we want to focus simply on building your awareness muscles.

As always, if you have any issues or feedback please email us at

With love & awareness,

This bracelet is AWESOME! Although I was worried at first because I could sneak a hair quickly without a buzz if I really wanted to, it has absolutely made me more aware. It's made me discover that my hand goes to my head long before the pull, something I had no idea I did! it buzzes and stops me before I can even find a hair that I really want to pull. AMAZING! Room for improvement: the breathing exercise should be easier to access, maybe a different button. also, more stats/history please!

The bands are helpful when they work but the app is terrible. I have to un- and re-install to get it to recognize my bands every single time I need to recalibrate, which is almost every day. They easily get thrown off if you're not wearing them constantly. Even when the app finds both bands, it will lose one when I make adjustments to the other.

Its definitely not perfect, BUT IT DOES HELP! I can see why it doesn't work for some people for sure, but I've been dealing with trich for 10+ years now and this is the first thing I've tried to actually make a difference. I rotate the vibration frequency and time so that I don't get used to it, and if you call the support team, they help you so much it getting it trained properly. There are false positives for sure which isn't fun, but they just remind me what I'm trying to accomplish.

What's new

We heard you! TOO MANY false vibrations are not fun. Through our NIH funded research, we’ve improved Keen’s algorithm to detect more subtle hair pulling, skin picking and nail biting behaviors.

But remember, EVERY vibration is a GOOD vibration - teaching you where your hands are. With each vibration, take your moment of pause to choose a healthier soothing strategy.

CELEBRATE each Keen vibration, as the “hug” on the wrist that is cheering on your positive behavior change!
