Padma Bahtera Medical Center was founded to provide complete professional medical
testing for seafarers and other professional workers in Bali, Indonesia at a reasonable
price to both seafarers and their employers. Rather than sending seafarers to one place for
blood work, another for x-rays, and yet another for eye check-ups which is often the norm,
PBMC incorporated all these facilities into a one-stop, professional laboratory and medical
center.

Because of our work with seafarers and support by relevant bodies, we were officially
opened by the Director General of the Indonesian Sea Transportation Department. We
maintain an international standard, and our licenses for medical clinic, laboratory,
pharmacy, and radiology are issued by the Bali Provincial Health Department and the
National Department of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

While our primary objective is still seafarers, PBMC has since expanded to serve the
larger community and all types of workers both with testing and complete medical care
including general and pediatric care for the spouses and children of active seafarers. We
also work with the local community to provide free health care for those in need and
support seminars about disease prevention and coping with major illnesses.
