About this app

Hardware Keys Tester is a visual key testing lab for Android. Open a test, press a hardware key, and watch glow, counters, timelines, and status cards update instantly.

Check volume buttons, Back, physical keyboard keys, and gamepad controls. Measure how long a key is held, spot hold-repeats and rapid presses, then save a session summary you can review later.

WHO IT’S FOR
• Phone and tablet owners checking volume and Back buttons
• Anyone using a physical or Bluetooth keyboard
• Gamers testing a connected controller
• Repair desks that want a clear, visual key-event check

WHAT YOU CAN TEST
• Volume Up and Volume Down — live press, hold, release, duration, and repeat count
• Back key preview — a controlled test you can exit at any time
• Keyboard keys — key code, safe label, action, repeat count, and source
• Gamepad buttons — D-Pad, face buttons, shoulders, Start, and Select
• Press duration — Short, Medium, and Long buckets with a live hold meter
• Repeat detection — hold-repeats and rapid re-presses with average interval
• Button response cards — a visual overview for every key family
• Key event log — a live, filterable timeline of the current session

SESSIONS AND INSIGHTS
Finish a test to see a clear summary. Save sessions, mark favorites, search and filter history, copy a summary, and open detailed metrics for any saved run. Stats show totals by key family, average and longest press duration, most-tested key, and more.

DESIGNED FOR DAILY USE
Five themes, large text mode, reduced animations, keep-screen-awake during tests, and customizable duration thresholds. The app stays in portrait and uses original visuals — press glow, duration rings, event timelines, and charts.

Hardware Keys Tester reads key events while the app is open and in focus. Results are approximate and based on events received during your test. For critical device issues, use a professional service.
