There are 4 different types of HealthyWage Challenges you can join through the app. Those are:

The HealthyWager
Win up to $10,000 in an individual weight loss bet. Set the terms using the Prize Calculator (you choose your weight loss goal, wager amount, etc.). Play with the calculator all you like without commitment.

$10,000 Team Challenge
Teams of five compete to win cash prizes -- first prize is $10,000.

Jackpot Challenges
Individuals and teams try to achieve specific weight loss goals to earn a share of the pot.

Step Challenge
Individuals and teams connect step devices to calculate a custom goal. Achieve the step goal and earn a share of the pot! Devices available: Google Play (Android devices), Garmin and Fitbit.

Ratings and reviews

Healthy Wage has been very good for helping me to stick with it over an extended period rather than just a couple of weeks. For someone who is goal oriented like me, the stats give you a continuous tracking of where you're at, like weight loss, weight left to goal, percentages etc. That's really helpful on those days when you know you've done everything you should but the scale says something different. It's nice being able to see how far you've come right in front of you!

I like Healthy Wage, but the app could use some work. I wasn't very user friendly when it came to trying to find information on the challenge. Specifically the teams participating and the ranks, as well as the aftermath of the challenge. There is no information about the rankings or who won. Only the weight I started and ended with. The email they sent about who won "the following team" in place of who won. So I have no idea where our team landed in the ranking.

My first time through using Healthy Wage in 2020 went very well. They paid out for my winning challenge. Using it again for a "bounce back" challenge in 2024, the referee team said they "couldn't see the visible weight loss and change" in my victory submission, because my tank top was too loose. They used to pay fairly, but are now looking for reasons to nitpick as much as possible about things unrelated to the actual challenge. Can no longer recommend.
