The only way to really fix it downgrade version or better yet go to developer settings by tapping About Phone Build Numver fast like 6 times in 2 seconds then going to Apps section and turning on "Dont keep acrivities". Welcome.... HORRIBLE BLOATWARE APP forced upon security updates > Actually adds a eecondary browser to device if you click on the lock screen and which allows back door access and more and more vulnerabilities as it phones home to whoever is being paid for the articles and ads.

horrible forced app. go to your account lock screen settings and disable carousel and explore page to stop it's functions. will need to repeat every time it updates unfortunately

Definitely bloatware, only way I could find to stop it from hijacking the lock screen is to open the app, open the settings, and switch off the carousel. No idea if it's still doing anything in the background
