Heifer 47 calved at dawn. You're standing in the mud with gloves on, both hands busy. You say: "Hey Siri, cattle record." Done. No clipboard. No box top.

Here's the rest of that morning. The calf needed a pull, so you speak the calving record right there — ease score, dam, all of it. Two pens over, a few steers look snotty, so you say "Treated tags 708, 711, 710 with Baytril" and the app logs all three, withdrawal dates included. You're at the far end of the place with no signal — doesn't matter. Herd Advisor works offline and syncs on its own when you're back in range. By lunch you're at the kitchen table, and every record from the morning is sitting on a Records for Review screen. You glance over it, confirm it, and it's saved for good.

That's the whole idea: records get made where the work happens, not transcribed off a notebook three weeks later.

Ratings and reviews

App is good if you are only looking for a way to organize records. I was looking for a truly hands-free experience as seen in the marketing, but that compatibility does not yet exist for Android devices. You can transcribe voice records in app, but need to open app to do so. I did not use the market records, so cannot comment on those.

We've used other apps to try to keep records before, none of them have been as effective as Herd Adviser. All information is recorded and organized where it's easily accessible and visible. Gabe has been quick to respond when we've had issues and he gets the issues fixed quickly!

This app is great. It takes a little while to adapt to but Gabe is amazing. I think as they make changes it will get even better.
