About this app

Global Equalizer shapes the sound of audio that OTHER apps are playing. It is not a music player — it never opens a file of its own. It attaches Android's own audio effects to the playback already happening on your phone.

THE CURVE IS THE CONTROL
Most equalizers give you a row of sliders and leave you to imagine the response they add up to. Here the handles sit on the response curve itself, so the shape you are making is never guesswork. Drag a band, double-tap it to return to unity, and read the exact frequency and gain underneath.

VOLUME UP TO 200%
A makeup gain stage on the same scale a media player uses: 100% is untouched, 200% is double the amplitude — +6 dB. Not a vague "boost amount" that means nothing on its own.

BASS, 3D AND ROOM
• Bass boost, 0–100%
• 3D sound — stereo widening, with a headphone-rendering switch so it still works on the phone speaker

Every effect is checked against your device before its control lights up. Reverb in particular is written, read back, and switched off if the chipset quietly ignored it — because seven buttons that do nothing with no explanation is worse than an honest grey rail.

15 PRESETS, PLUS YOUR OWN
Bass Heavy, Deep Sub, Vocal Boost, Instrumental, Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Electronic, Jazz, Classical, Concert Hall, 3D Wide, Podcast, Late Night, Flat. Save your whole chain — curve, bass, 3D, volume and room — under a name of your own.

FIVE, SEVEN OR TEN BANDS
Pick the grid you want to work in. Android fixes the number of real filters per device, so your curve is resampled onto them by log-frequency interpolation. More bands means finer control over the shape, not more filters in the chip — and this app says so instead of pretending otherwise.

SEVEN LAYOUTS
Analyzer, Classic, Faders, Spectrum, Mirror, Dots and Radial. Each is a whole vernacular, not a skin: the measurement faces report levels as bars against a scale, the console faces get hand-painted rotary knobs.

TONE SHAPES
Warmer, Brighter, Vocal + and Vocal − nudge the current curve instead of replacing it, so they stack with your own edits.

SIX INSTRUMENT FACES, LIGHT AND DARK
Noir, Cobalt, Graphite, Oxide, Ultramarine and Paper — each authored in both light and dark, not one palette with the lights turned down. Plus configurable edge lighting, including a cycling RGB mode.

REACH IT FROM ANYWHERE
• A home-screen widget

NOW PLAYING
Track, artist, source app and transport controls for whatever is playing. Optional — it needs Notification access, and the app tells you exactly why before asking.

WHAT IT CAN AND CANNOT REACH — PLEASE READ
Since Android 9, a normal app cannot attach effects to the global output mix. Only a system-signed app can. So this app takes both routes available to it, and the status line under the title always tells you which one you are actually in: processing all system audio, processing N apps, or waiting for a compatible player.

Players that cooperate: VLC, Poweramp, AIMP, Musicolet, most AOSP-derived players and many podcast apps. Players that do not announce their audio session, and therefore cannot be processed without root: Spotify, YouTube, YouTube Music and Chrome.

It also cannot change playback speed, shift pitch, or separate vocals from a backing track. No playback-side effect can — those need the unmixed source. The app says this on its own Settings screen rather than shipping controls that move nothing.

PRIVACY
• No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no ad ID
• The only thing it sends is an automatic crash report if it crashes. Nothing else uses the network
• Your audio is never recorded or uploaded — effects run in Android's own pipeline
• Every preset and setting stays in the app's private storage on your device

First release. A system-wide equalizer for other apps' audio: drag the response curve itself, 5/7/10 bands, bass boost, 3D sound, volume up to 200% and seven reverb rooms. 15 presets plus your own.
