About this app

Welcome to your hand-held library of readers for Biblical Hebrew students! Our goal is to help bridge the gap between taking a first-year Hebrew class and reading the Biblical text comfortably. This library can accompany any Biblical Hebrew grammar course, offering enjoyable reading material at various levels to build students’ reading confidence and fluency.

These readers are full of pictures that add context and increase comprehension, and are accompanied by clear audio recordings so that the reader can listen along page-by-page and experience Biblical Hebrew as a living language.

The 37 readers range from vocabulary-building picture books and easy stories to intermediate stories based on excerpts from the Biblical text itself. The intermediate stories include a glossary at the end with words that occur less than 100 times in the Hebrew Bible.

A scripture memory section is also included, with frequently memorized passages such as Genesis 1:1, the Shema, Psalm 23, and others. Listen while you read to aid in memorization.

• Speed up or slow down the audio as desired.
• 3 different display options: white, sepia or black.
• Toggle the size of the text as desired.
• Search the library for a specific word.
• Ad-free

We hope you enjoy this free resource!

I love that you can slow the speed down when you are listening to the auidio recording pronouncing words. Some other places i look to help me learn pronounce the words so fast that i listen to it a hundred times and still try to understand what they are saying. This app makes it easier for starting out. When i click on animals it showed a couple different pictures of an animal tail. It said one under one picture and i slid to the next and it said something different. I dont know what it means.

I'm enjoying this app! The audio helps with proper pronunciation, and one of my favorite features is that you can slow down the audio "reading" to make it easier to follow along while you're learning. (This is for intermediate learners who know the alphabet and basic pronunciation.)

This app is outstandingly exceptional, it teaches one vocabulary through comprehensive input. This means that if one is diligent, they can even end up knowing the entire vocabulary of the Tanak. It also builds reading fluency, a thing that is usually a challenge for many students that have done biblical hebrew for years. I highly recommend this app for those that are interested in learning biblical hebrew on order to read the tanak in it's original language. Please make one for the Greek NT.
