Dear Diary is a personal journaling app for everyday reflection. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you are going through a hard time, please reach out to a qualified professional or a crisis helpline - the app includes a Get Support screen with region-appropriate helplines, and that screen is always completely ad-free.

A private journal that notices your patterns, entirely on your device. Dear Diary works 100% offline. There is no account, no login, and no cloud sync or backup of any kind. Every mood, entry, tag, and photo you add is stored only on your phone, in a local database and local files, and it never leaves your device.

Every entry starts with a simple mood check-in - calm, content, tired, low, or stressed - and you can write freely or follow one of around 150 built-in prompts. The signature Echoes feature works quietly on your device: it can gently flag when your words read differently to the mood you tapped, resurface past entries where you have written about the same thing before, and show a light, plain-language reflection of your recent mood trend. Echoes only ever describes what you have logged - it never diagnoses and never judges.

FREE, WITH ADS
Dear Diary is free and supported by Google AdMob. A banner appears on most screens, but never on the Get Support screen. An occasional interstitial appears on the monthly report, and optional rewarded videos unlock extras such as unlimited photos, extended On This Day history, and a 24-hour ad-free window. There are no in-app purchases. Where required, consent for personalised ads is handled through Google's User Messaging Platform.
