Rootline reads the same craniofacial, nasal, orbital and pigmentation markers forensic anthropologists use, then scores them against twelve reference sub-regions to estimate your ethnicity breakdown — with named historical lineages, not vague continents.

HOW IT WORKS

The analysis runs ten measurement axes — craniofacial indices, nasal complex, orbital geometry, mandibular profile, dentition, hair morphology, dermatoglyphics, pigmentation, postcranial proportions and soft tissue — and matches your readings against published anthropometric reference distributions for twelve world sub-regions.

Adding relatives is not decoration. A parent shares half your autosomal DNA and a grandparent a quarter, and Rootline folds each relative's phenotype into your own at exactly that weight.

HOW ACCURATE IS IT?

Rootline is a probabilistic model built on published anthropometric reference distributions. It is not a genetic test and does not sequence DNA. Adding relatives raises the confidence band, and we show you that band on every report.

A weekly or annual subscription for unlimited people and unlimited analyses, or a one-time purchase for a single full report. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

Privacy: your photos are stored privately against your account and are never used for training. Nobody else sees them unless you turn on matching and choose to share one — matching is off until you switch it on, and you can leave at any time. You can delete everything from Settings whenever you want.
