About this app

Hydrated tracks the water you drink, works out a daily goal from your body and your climate, and reminds you through the day.

You can also pair with one other person. You each see how the other's day is going, and either of you can send a nudge when the other has gone quiet.

A companion sits at the centre of the app and changes with your day. It looks parched first thing in the morning, brightens as you drink, and is radiant once you pass your goal. There are eight to choose from, and your partner sees yours.

LOGGING WATER
• Three preset amounts on the home screen, a tap each
• A dial for anything else
• Swipe a drink away if you logged it by mistake
• The day reads as a thread, with your running total after every glass

YOUR DAILY GOAL
• Worked out from your weight, how active you are and the climate you live in
• Or set your own figure
• Millilitres or fluid ounces

REMINDERS
• Through the hours you are awake, every one, two or three hours
• A reminder is skipped if you have just had a drink
• Scheduled on your phone, so they work without a connection

TRENDS
• Your last week against your goal line
• The day of the week you tend to slip on
• Your current streak, your longest one, and your average day

A PARTNER
• Pair with a six-character code, and either of you can decline
• See their total, their goal, their streak and how their day is going
• Send a nudge when they are behind
• Their daily totals since the day you paired
• Either of you can unpair, at any time

WHAT A PARTNER SEES
• Today's total against today's goal
• Your streak, and when you last had a drink
• Your name and your companion

They do not see your individual drinks, and they see nothing from before the day you paired.

YOUR ACCOUNT
• Everything works without one
• Sign in with Apple or Google to back your history up, and to pair with someone
• Your history is backed up privately, and no partner can read it
• Delete your account and the backup goes with it
