About this app

Most hydration apps tell everyone to drink eight glasses. Hydroguard does the
actual math.

A 180 lb moderately active person at 65°F sea level needs roughly 108 oz of
fluid. The same person under 105°F Tucson sun needs around 146 oz. Hydroguard
pulls your current temperature, humidity, and elevation from MET Norway and
adjusts your daily target accordingly. Log what you drink with three taps.
Watch the ring fill. That's the whole app.

WHAT'S DIFFERENT

• Weather-aware target — not a generic "8 glasses" guess. Heat, humidity, and
altitude all change how much you sweat and respire. Hydroguard accounts for
every one of them.

• Zero tracking. Zero ads. Zero subscriptions. No account to create. No email
required. No analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising ID,
and no app-generated or persistent device identifier. The only network call
the app makes is a request to MET Norway for the current weather at your
approximate location. That's it.

• One-time $4.99. You pay once. No subscription.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES

• Calculates a daily hydration goal from your body weight, activity level,
and live local weather.
• Shows a ring you fill with quick-log buttons. Add up to five named bottles,
mugs, or glasses; your three most recently used appear on the home screen.
Until you add one, the app uses 8 / 16 / 24 oz (or metric) defaults.
• Resets every day at midnight, local time.
• Works offline — it can reuse the latest matching weather snapshot for up to
six hours; after that, it falls back to your baseline target.
• Metric and US units.

WHO IT'S FOR

Endurance athletes, lifters, manual workers, anyone living somewhere hot —
anyone who's tired of hydration advice that ignores the fact they're standing
in 100°F humidity.

WHAT IT DOESN'T DO

• It does not nag. There are no push notifications, by design.
• It does not "gamify" anything. No streaks, no rewards, no leaderboards.
• It does not store a history beyond the current day. Today's intake is on
your phone; yesterday is gone. If you want long-term tracking, this isn't
the app — and that's intentional.
• It does not create a profile, sell data, run analytics, or use information
for advertising. There is no cloud sync, friends list, or social anything.

PERMISSIONS

• Approximate location — sent to MET Norway for local weather. Hydroguard
does not persist location history or send it anywhere else, and never asks for
precise GPS or background location. MET Norway receives the request IP and
coordinates in its access logs; details are in the privacy policy.
• Internet — used only to call MET Norway's Locationforecast API.

PRIVACY

Your profile and water log stay on your phone. The privacy policy explains the
weather request, MET Norway's access logs, and every local value the app stores.

THE SCIENCE

The calculation uses transparent, auditable product heuristics rather than a
black-box model. A 160 oz/day product guardrail limits extreme stacked
estimates; people with sustained heat or exertion needs should use an
individualized clinician or workplace hydration plan.
