The app is free, has no ads, and has no unusual permissions. The pop-up that you see in the beginning is just a message, and not the actual permissions granted to the app. If you check the app settings, only the photos/videos are given permissions, and this is by choice and can be set to "limited," meaning you are prompted each time. It work's perfect on my phone.

it keeps saying no device connected. sometimes when it will connect the camera will flicker.

This is the only app I could find that would work with the ScopeAround SA39i and my Pixel 6a running Android 14. Updated: Zoom function doesn't work with this model. Use the UseePlus app instead, which works (including zoom) and is the one recommended on the Amazon product page. Still five stars for this app since the basic functionality does work.
