The Idaho 511 app provides near real-time highway and traffic information to drivers to help them safely plan their route. This includes information on construction, incidents, road closures, and weather alerts on roads across the province.

This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays:

The app also features audio alerts that notify drivers of incidents, construction, road closures, and other road events.

Ratings and reviews

App just updated. Now you can't use it without sharing your location and "other" personal data. Uninstalling! There's less intrusive ways to get the same information!

Well, they apparently looked at the reviews. The most recent update fixes most of my earlier complaints. They now give the full information from the weather stations and it doesn't always start in Boise area. I now like as much or more than previous app. Changing my rating from 1 star to 4. It's not perfect yet but it is now getting close. Update: Biggest complaint now is if you press "Back" button to drop out of a dialog it kicks you out of program. Very frustrating.

The only good thing about this app is the option to create an account and have routes programed for notifications. Useless when you can't look at it and know if the road is closed or open in the winter. Old app was better with a giant icon as soon as you pulled it open. It needs to be better when people depend on it to make important decisions.
