In today's connected world, Mobile ID offers a private, secure, contactless way to verify identity, either at home or on-the-go. Everything is on your phone – now your ID is, too!

Intuitive, easy-to-use and highly convenient, West Virginia Mobile ID can be used anywhere it’s accepted, in any context a physical ID would be used – with enhanced privacy features. Only your Face ID, TouchID or six-digit pin will unlock the app and access your Mobile ID.

In five simple steps, you can create your West Virginia MiD:

1. Download the app and set permissions
2. Verify access to your phone number
3. Use your device camera to scan the front and back of your driver license or ID card
4. Follow the steps to capture a selfie
5. Set up app security and you’re good to go!

Please note: West Virginia Mobile ID is an official state-issued ID, serving as a companion to your physical ID. As not all entities are able to verify a Mobile ID, you should continue to carry your physical ID.

still having trouble with gas stations accepting this as a valid form of identification. I been attempting to navigate but for the life of me I can not seem to find how to allow retailers to scan the id. the plus is that I downloaded this app and uploaded my current license before renewal and my renewed license appeared and I have not even recieved it in the mail yet.

Set up is a self explanitory, with guides. First time ever, my prepaid mobile number has been accepted for identification purposes, yay! You'll need your phone number for identification purposes, then get ID ready, turn phone sideways to capture front and back as prompted. Once accepted, hold phone at eye level, it'll have u move head to connect 3 dots, it's awkward head movements. App crashed 3x during, but picked back up where I was, did send requested report.

This makes it so much more convenient in situations where you may have forgot to put your ID back in your wallet. It's happened to me multiple times and I hope that it's an app that I can use for other situations later on down thw road.
