TL;DR - 5/5 content, 3/5 app due to issues with usability. I found this app after reading Matthieu Ricard's great book "why meditate". At first, I tried to follow Matthieu's sessions. However, I didn't find them very useful because there wasn't much guidance and the video aspect is somewhat distracting. I have recently been listening to Charles Hastings' sessions which I feel are much more useful for me. However, the app crashes every time I unlock the screen after finishing a session which is very frustrating. EDIT: Bugs have been fixed on my device after the Feb 20 update (crashing after sessions and not being able to proceed). But, the recent change has made it (as far as I can tell) mandatory to have the screen on for audio-only recordings (e.g. Charles Hastings'), whereas before it was possible to turn off the screen and just listen to the guidance. This is really distracting - the point is to actually use these recordings as a guide for your practice, not to have your phone in front of you and stare at photos (no matter how beautiful they are) I suggest that it should be possible to listen to ANY session as audio-only, even the ones where there is an associated video.

Dear Jesse, here is the latest update. The audio/video player has been rewritten from scratch for better UX and stability; in this first update, foreground playback is required, and we intend to add background playback in an upcoming release. Thank you for your continued support and interest!

Amazing all and the best teachings of any app I've used. Goes much deeper than most. Only comment is that it would be good to be able to save things for offline use. App has some latency when clicking through on menus. Should also make it clearer which lectures /talks you've listened to. Sometimes its not accurate. Shows all as played or skips onto next one sometimes. Keep up good work!

We are very glad you find the content supportive for your practice. Accuracy regarding progress will improve in next version coming soon. As for offline mode it is on our radar although no ETA yet. Thanks for your practice ❤️

Very helpful during quarantine period. The meditation sessions by Alan Wallace are very very helpful. Please make all the videos and sessions downloadable on app and available offline. Also, if possible, if the sessions continue to play as audio when the screen is turned off, the app will be perfect.
