About this app

Incident Detection watches for possible crashes while you cycle, run, walk, hike, or drive - and, if you pair a heart-rate sensor, for a sustained abnormal heart rate too - and can automatically alert the people you choose if something goes wrong.

HOW IT WORKS
Start a session and the app tracks your route using your phone's GPS, accelerometer, and gyroscope - only while the session is running, never in the background otherwise. If it detects a sudden impact followed by an abnormal stop, or (with an optional paired heart-rate sensor) a sustained abnormal heart rate, it shows a countdown screen so you can cancel if you're fine. If you don't respond, it texts (and optionally calls) your emergency contacts with your last known location.

KEY FEATURES
- Automatic crash detection for cycling, running, walking, hiking, and driving
- Optional heart-rate sensor support, with its own anomaly alert using the same countdown and emergency notification as crash detection
- Optional cadence sensor support for cycling sessions
- Emergency SMS with your location, with an optional automatic call to your primary contact
- Optional photo capture sent with the alert
- Manual "Call for help" button for when you know you need help right away
- GPS-free monitoring for Walk and Car, to save battery when a full route isn't needed
- Adjustable detection sensitivity for walking, since a fall doesn't always look the same as a bike or car crash
- Turn-by-turn navigation for an imported GPX route, a past activity, or a route saved to your on-device library - including an optional "ghost rider" pace comparison against a past ride
- Full session history with route, distance, speed, elevation, and heart rate/cadence if recorded

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Incident Detection has no server and no account. Your routes, emergency contacts, and photos are stored only on your phone - never uploaded anywhere. If a crash is confirmed, the app briefly scans for nearby Bluetooth devices and saves what it finds as potential evidence with that incident - this data stays on your phone too. The only thing that ever leaves your device is the emergency message itself, sent directly to the contact you chose.

Incident Detection is a personal safety tool, not a substitute for calling emergency services when you need immediate medical help.

What’s new

- NEW: share your bike radar with the group over Bluetooth — experimental for now.
- Heart-rate and cadence sensors now show battery level too, with a low-battery alert for any sensor.
- Bike sessions now show live Grade instead of Elevation gain.
- Radar alerts now vibrate, with a distinct cue for fast-approaching vehicles.
- Off-route banner now pulses if left unaddressed.
- Fixed a route-matching bug near a loop's start/finish.
