About this game

The treasure isn't on a map. It's a few hundred paces away from where you are now—and the path to it isn't straight.

TREASURE MAP transforms your street into a pirate island. Each expedition is a chain of real landmarks: you only discover where to go next when you reach the point where you are. Buildings become cliffs, trees become jungle, parked cars become metal beasts sleeping in a row.

⚓ HOW IT WORKS

The Captain gives you a riddle: "Go northeast, about two hundred paces, until the path splits in two." No arrows. No "347 meters." You receive a direction and distance as a pirate would—approximate, in paces—and you have to search for it when you arrive.

Reached the landmark? You get a piece of the map and the riddle for the next one. Three landmarks later, the treasure chest.

🗺️ THE PARCHMENT MAP

On the screen, a hand-drawn map shows the route YOU took, traced in ink on paper. The rest is shrouded in mist. The map doesn't say where the treasure is—it says where you've been. Walking is what reveals the island.

🔫 AMBUSHES

You're not the only one after this gold. Pirate skeletons hide near each landmark and advance behind you. Your hand wields a flintlock pistol at the bottom of the screen: turn your phone, find the skeleton, and shoot before it gets there—or it takes your doubloons. Hit it, it crumbles into a pile of bones, and its hat falls to the ground.

🗣️ THE CAPTAIN SPEAKS TO YOU

An old sea dog guides the expedition with a hoarse voice, read aloud so you don't have to look at the screen while walking.

But beware: the Captain is a pirate. One in four of his clues is a blatant lie. The riddles of the landmarks never lie — his clues do. Learn to be suspicious.

⚠️ PLAY CAREFULLY

You will be walking in public spaces looking at your phone. Pay attention to traffic. Don't play while driving. Don't enter private property or dangerous areas in search of a virtual chest — no treasure in the game is worth a real risk.

Children should play accompanied by an adult. The game reminds you of this every time an expedition begins.
