Ratings and reviews

This game has a standard mix of some basic building, exploration, combat, events, etc. It is well done for a phone app and I DO like it...but it gets slow, fast, if you aren't willing to pay frequently. I only just started and I am already looking at a whole day of production for one small step forward. There is just not a lot to do other than wait for the gold to slooowly accumulate. I would honestly watch more ads to get gold but nope. Gotta just wait. We'll see how long my patience lasts.

Very good game over all. Pros: Vertually add free. The only adds that are ones that are optional to get some resources (research points). No required adds at all! No PvP. people can't attack you while you sleeping. Best build through history game ever. Cons: Multi-player feature (alliances) is a little lacking. This is only because there is very little actual interaction between people. Also, progress is mainly made offline, so if you want a game where it is easy and fast, this isn't the game.

I'm a big fan of this game. it's essentially an update on Inno's previous game, Forge of Empires, for modern, mobile-first game design principles. That does mean they're slightly more aggressive with IAPs, but honestly you don't have to do any of that. I appreciate that the secondary cultures are more integrated with core gameplay, and that the wonder system suffers less from late game bloat. Overall, a solid choice for a city-builder :)
