Nearly useless without a subscription. LOVED the original version, but nearly anything useful you now have to pay for. HATE the new version. Without paying, you can only download one state at a time and cannot filter. When items are close, it replaces the icons with a count, which sucks if you can't filter because a group of 5 may, infact, have zero campsites. The map now shows elevation, which may be handy, but also clutters up the map when you are just looking for camping.

Ads are way to intrusive now. I went to go subscribe clicking the ad space on top of the app to remove it (as it said subscribe and nothing more) but the add spoofed registering for what I thought was ioverlander and turned out to be malicious and now has my email info and is spamming me... Almost got my credit card too. Then another add on the detail page over takes the whole page and I couldn't close out, only forced to go to that ads page and force close ioverlander. What a shame :/

I've been using ioverlander for 6 or 7 years. I still like it, as long as I'm in the one state that I can access at the free level. I considered paying for the upgrade, but the cost is outrageous. I won't contribute campsites anymore, I could have added the great spot I was at last night, but I wouldn't even be able to see my own spot because it is in a different state.
