About this app

A simple, free step counter. No ads, no account, and nothing leaves your phone.

Open it and it counts. Today's steps, big and easy to read. Close it and it keeps counting, also after a restart.

WHAT YOU GET
• Today's steps, large and clear, in light or dark
• Your week at a glance, with a daily average
• A goal if you want one: a ring around the number fills as you walk
• Calories and distance if you want them: enter your weight, and optionally your height. The calories shown are the extra from your steps only, never an inflated whole-day figure
• Your pace while you walk
• An option to keep the screen on while you walk

WHAT YOU DO NOT GET
• No ads. Not now, not later. There is no paid version, because there is nothing to remove
• No account, no e-mail, no password
• No tracking and no analytics. The app has no internet access at all
• No sounds, no confetti, no nagging

HOW IT COUNTS
Your phone has a chip that counts steps, but only while an app keeps it awake. Pedometer does that quietly in the background for almost no battery. On Android you will see a silent notification while the app is not on screen. You can hide it in your phone's settings.

ONE PERMISSION
Physical activity, which lets the app read the phone's step counter. Nothing else.

Your history stays on your phone and follows your phone's own backup.
