About this app

Activity Record is an hourly journal — an activity diary and mood tracker in one. Each hour, you jot down what you were doing and rate it from 0 to 100. That's it: two taps and a few words.

After a few days, patterns start to show: which activities, times of day, and days of the week line up with feeling better or worse. Not guesses — your own record, described back to you in plain language.

WHAT YOU RATE
• A feeling you choose to follow, and change anytime without losing history
• Pleasure — how much fun, joy, or satisfaction the hour gave you
• Mastery — your sense of achievement: feeling capable, having made progress, or being in control
Keep one, two, or all three. Hours often score low on one and high on another, and that difference is usually the interesting part.

WHAT YOU DO
• Log an hour in seconds — activity, rating, optional notes
• Add other feelings you noticed alongside it
• Set your own waking hours so the day is shorter to scroll; any hour you've logged something in still shows
• Fill in earlier hours or days whenever you like — backfilling is expected, not a failure

WHAT YOU SEE
• An intensity map of your days, hour by hour, in either orientation, with its own map for each thing you rate
• Plain-language observations about times of day, days of the week, and activities — grouped however you happened to word them
• Week-over-week comparison as your record grows

YOURS TO KEEP
• No account required, no tracking, no ads. Your record stays on your device unless you choose otherwise
• Optional sync with your own Google Drive — off by default. Turn it on and your record follows you between devices, stored in a private folder only this app can see. Nothing is ever shared with the developer
• Export a PDF of any day or date range, with or without the insights
• Export a spreadsheet (CSV), or save a full backup file you can restore here or on a new device

MADE TO FIT YOUR DAY
• Home screen widget and app shortcut for one-tap logging
• Up to 12 daily reminders, each on its own schedule
• Optional screen lock (fingerprint, face, PIN, or pattern) to open the app
• 12- or 24-hour time
• Full English and Spanish, switchable instantly in the app
• Light and dark themes

Also on iPhone and iPad, and there's a free activity diary worksheet you can fill in at activityrecordapp.com.

What’s new

Rate more than one thing an hour.

Pleasure and mastery — alongside the feeling you follow, you can now rate how much enjoyment an hour gave you and how much it felt like an achievement. Turn either on in Settings. Each gets its own intensity map and its own observations.

Set your own hours — if you're never awake at 4 a.m., say so, and the day gets shorter to scroll.
