ocial media taught us to turn our lives into performances. Every photo becomes content, every moment gets measured in likes, and an algorithm decides which of your memories deserve attention — while the feed pulls you into everyone else's.
ToSelf is the opposite of that.
It's a place for photos, videos, and thoughts you keep for no one but yourself. No feed to scroll. No followers to impress. No likes to count. No notifications begging you back. You open it to add a memory or revisit one — then you put it down. Nothing here is designed to hold your attention, because nothing here profits from it.
No audience — not even us
ToSelf doesn't ask for internet access at all. Android itself guarantees the app cannot send or receive anything — check the permissions list and see for yourself. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your memories aren't content, aren't data, and aren't for sale. They're just yours.
A quiet gallery of your life
• Post photos, videos, or just a written thought — or combine up to 10 in one swipeable post
• A clean grid organized by week, so scrolling walks back through your own time — not an algorithm's ranking
• Pinch to zoom between one large column and five compact ones
• "On this day" gently resurfaces posts from this date in past years — memories, not "engagement"
• Full-screen viewer with zoomable photos and video playback

• Add #tags with suggestions from tags you've used before
• Search captions and tags live as you type
• Tap any tag to see every post carrying it
Keep it yours
• Optional app lock: fingerprint or face with a PIN fallback — the PIN is stored only as a cryptographic hash
• Contents hidden from the recents screen while locked
• Light and dark themes with eight accent colors
Your data, in your hands
Because there's no cloud, your vault exists only on your device. Export everything — posts, photos, videos, tags — as a single file wherever you choose, and import it on a new phone. Export regularly: uninstalling the app permanently deletes everything in it.
