Seems to work well Still need to do some further testing, but it seems to work well. However, the feet/miles units do not work as it should. At a very close distance, it stays in the meter unit mode, instead of feet. Further away, it reports in miles as it should. Hopefully, that will be corrected with the next update. Also, no way I could find to locate a waypoint, other than scrolling through the entire waypoint list. (Up to 500 waypoints.) 500 waypoints is a good thing, unless you have to scroll to get to waypoint #250. 😉
Junk, keeps crashing Not worth the trouble. Unable to find import files on device. When you manually "help it", it crashes. Don't waste your time.
Does not change to feet/miles It indicates change in menu, but continues to show measurements in meters even after closing/killing and restarting. I have even added waypoints but it does not work. Sad, it is nice but I need alternative.
Just perfect for navigating to a grid reference - or back to your location - like my old Garmin eTrex, but much better. Clear readout. Accurate. Works at all angles - ideal for windscreen mounting. OK, it would be nice if waypoints could be catalogued better rather than have to go through them sequentially, but more than worth 5 stars.
Here is a cool app! With an interface more or less reminiscent of legacy GPS receivers from before the advent of mapping and other bells and whistles, this app offers a no-frills heading, bearing and distance to selected waypoints (which incidentally may be created by the actual receiver position, by manually entering coordinates, by clicking in a world map, or importing from an external file). Waypoints can also be exported to GPX files. Here is a suggestion for improving the program: given that most cellphone compass sensors are so-so at best, the current heading could be read from the sensor only when standing still. When above a prescribed velocity, the heading could be replaced by track (easily available in "RMC" GPS NMEA sentences). Better yet, this could be user-configurable: "use internal compass" (yes/no), or "use track instead of heading above [xx] speed". This would also benefit the many users who do NOT have compass sensors in their devices, as they could just choose to always use track (fully aware that track only makes sense when moving).
Perfect as a simple and uncomplicated "Go to" app that does not require maps and all complications/clutter other apps have. Nice to have the choice of coordinates format. Good for a few waypoints only at the time. Thank you, it is really useful.
