About this game

New! You can play with friends or computer controlled AI bots, or both.

Advanced AI focuses first on bringing in new players to the game; pick up the game and just start playing. Training progresses quickly, and even the most experienced players might learn a thing or two. Each strategic decision is explained! See inside the thought process of a mature AI originally published in 1992 and updated in 2019.

To measure your progress, you will be training a puppy which will advance through its lessons as you learn Sheepshead (aka Schafkopf). Puppy raising tips come from 16 years of service-dog training experience.

This is a fun family table card game along the lines of other trick-taking games like Spades, Hearts, Euchre, etc.

I like it in general but it would take a lot more convincing to tell me that the computer doesn't already know what the other hands hold A picker never leads with an ace. With that being said when the picker does lead with that ace it's 99% sure that every player has at least one of that suit ...it's constant and consistent to that end check your work edit: I'm not sure I buy it but thanks for the quick response

Thanks! The AI will explain why it plays the cards it chooses by giving you the same advice for your hand, so maybe checking that out will help you understand what the AI is doing. Cards are random, and the AI doesn't cheat. It also wouldn't make sense to make the AI cheat and make you lose, get angry at the game, and quit playing. Enjoy!

Game play is OK, AI seems pretty good most of the hands. Needs an "Undo" button, especially on discards. Please add an Undo feature. Sometimes legal partner selection suits don't show up as an option. Will not allow choice of a 10 for a partner when burying an Ace or other points. The dog training thing is distracting and unnecessary for game play, but it's free, so that the price to play. Better game play than other sheepshead games in play store.

Thx for the review, the compliment of the AI's gameplay, & suggestion for an undo feature. I can almost guarantee there is not a bug with the partner selection. 'Call and Ace' partner is quite complicated. For example, you cannot pick a 10 as partner unless you have all three aces. Send me any examples you think are wrong and I'll address them.

Ok game with terrible AI and stacked deals. The deals are NOT randomised. The basic game is solid but the deals are stacked and leave you rarely actually playing the game more just watching it go by. A single AI player often gets dealt all the queens. I've seen a game end after three hands many times. The computer players are impossible juggernauts when against you, yet totally incompetent when your partner. They all work together at all times to defeat you. Incompetent programming...

Cards are random, and the AI plays the same whether you picked or not. If you're losing, it's just a run of bad luck, or you need to study the AI advice. As you indicated, the AI is good ('impossible juggernaut'), which contradicts your comment that it is 'terrible'. If you play more and watch what the AI does, you too will become a juggernaut.
