Created by financial planners, for financial planners, the Projection Assumption Guidelines help financial planners make realistic medium and long-term projections by providing an estimate of future inflation and borrowing rates, returns and life expectancy. They are published by the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF) and the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC), and updated annually.
An important facet of the financial planner’s work is to make a variety of projections:
