Type two letters, press Enter. VOID is a calm, text-first home screen: apps, people, timers and focus on one prompt.
No icon grid, no widgets competing for attention. Just the clock, what is next, a few apps you really need, and a place to type.
TYPE TWO LETTERS. PRESS ENTER.
VOID ranks every search by match and by how often you open each app. After a day or two, the app you want is almost always on top: highlighted, one Enter away. Initials and small typos work too: "ps" finds Play Store. Or tap the mic.
PEOPLE, NOT JUST APPS
Turn on contacts and type a name: Enter calls, texts or opens WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram, whatever you did last time with that person. "anna sms" or "jan call" picks the action. Nothing is ever dialled by itself.
A COMMAND LINE FOR YOUR PHONE
TORCH, WIFI, BT, VOLUME, BATTERY, ALARM 7:30, TIMER 10m. The row above the prompt shows what Enter will do. Type HELP for more.
FOCUS, WITHOUT LOCKING YOURSELF OUT
Mark the apps that pull you in. During focus (started with FOCUS ON 25m, or on a schedule like weekdays 9-17) they leave the list and wait behind a countdown. Type the name and they are still there: VOID never blocks.
YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT AND ALARM, UNDER THE CLOCK
Turn on next event and the home screen says what's coming: "in 25m · Team standup". Tap it to open it; type AGENDA for today and tomorrow. Your next alarm appears too, when it rings within 24 hours.
SCREEN TIME, ON YOUR TERMS
Turn on screen time to see today's time under the clock and next to each app. Set a daily LIMIT: going over adds a countdown, never a block.
A QUIET DOT FOR NOTIFICATIONS
Turn on notification dots and apps with a waiting notification get a • after their name. VOID reads only which apps have one, never what it says.
THE PROMPT NEVER DEAD-ENDS
Typed something that isn't an app? VOID offers to search the web, ask an AI assistant, or open it as a website, and shows what Enter will do before you press it. Sums are answered on the spot.
LONG-PRESS ANY APP, OR JUST TYPE
Long-press an app for shortcuts, speed dial, focus, delay, limit, hide, rename and more. Hidden apps still open when you type the full name. Or type an app and part of an action, "maps home", to open that shortcut directly.
ONE THUMB, NO ICONS
• Swipe up: every app, in a calm alphabetical list. Drag the A-Z letters on the edge to jump
• Swipe down: notifications
• Swipe right / left: your first two speed dial apps
Pin up to ten apps in speed dial; the first sit in thumb reach.
THEMES, DAY AND NIGHT
Six themes, each with its own material, in a fixed-width typeface:
• Lunar (night), Stone (day): frosted glass
• Paper (day): warm paper, highlighter on your match
• Ink (night): chalk on charcoal, gold underline
• E-ink (day): pure black and white, no animation
• Phosphor (night): amber on black, scanlines
Pick a day and a night theme. Switch manually, at set times, or at sunrise and sunset.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No internet permission: VOID cannot send data anywhere. Searches and questions go to the browser or assistant you pick; nothing is sent in the background.
• No microphone permission: the mic button hands off to your phone's own speech input
• No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking
• Your speed dial, search ranking and settings stay on your device
• Approximate location is used only for automatic day/night, on your device, to calculate sunrise and sunset. Never stored.
• Screen time is off by default. Switched on, it reads today's app usage on your device only, to show it to you; never sent anywhere.
• Notification dots are off by default. Switched on, VOID sees only which apps have a notification, never its content; kept in memory, never sent anywhere.
• Contacts and calendar are off by default. Switched on, names, numbers and appointments are read on your device to search and show them; never stored by VOID, never sent anywhere.
VOID is for people who want their phone to feel like a tool again.
Type a name, press Enter. A calm, text-first home screen for apps and people.
